Goliath Radio

MORE PROGRAMMING TO GET YOU THINKING!

Goliath is proud to be the most provocative source for talk in town It expects that position to continue in 2014 and be even stronger in sharpening its focus on local issues.

As has been publicized, thanks to Big John's commitment to donate the assets of WELE to Bethune-Cookman University, an application has been filed with FCC that will shift the License to the University, which will operate the station as a full-service, locally committed commercial radio station. BC-U President Edison O. Jackson believes the closer ties he envisions for his institution with surrounding community will be reflected in assuring expansion of Goliath's commitment and hard work to provide programming focused on where and how we live that will touch the lives of all who listen.

Goliath believes that local folks with strong opinions are more interesting the national pundits and potificators and since it began providing programming has worked hard to present them. Some programs have worked out. Others, like the Opinionated Guys show whose promotion stayed up on this site way too long, didn't work out. But Goliath has become like our Florida weather -- if you don't like what's here right now, just wait a little and there will be something different.

With important elections coming in 2014, and with hold-over issues like the impact of CRAs and how we put a different face on homelessness; with changes afoot in our tourism marketing and decisions to be made on more money for schools and other needs, there is no shortage of what to talk about in the months ahead,. Goliath, through Big John and his associates and we hope soon under B-CU's direction, won't be telling you HOW to think, but will be helping you to know the facts that will help YOU make YOUR decisions.

WHY GOLIATH IS WORKING FOR YOU

Goliath protects your right to know. On 1380 AM and streaming on the World Wide Web all day, every day.

Big John, successful businessman, recovering politician and long-time host of Big Talk, was so concerned when 1380-AM's future was threatened that he founded Goliath to protect your access to the things others don't talk about. Doing so means you get helpful information to make up YOUR mind on local issues that affect YOUR life.

Where else can you find the local Occupy group telling about its activities one day and the 9-12 patriots acting as Volusia Watchdogs the next. Where a 14-year old interviews rock stars and politicians, a gardener tells how to cope with drought, a financial planner shares his secrets and where traditional doctors and hospitals share the airwaves with holistic healers and where veterinarians tell us how to care for our animals while we learn about the psychology of using them to keep ourselves calm?

Is there anywhere else you can learn about what the GLBT folks are doing and why we should care, or what H.O.M.E. Is really like when your bed is newsprint under a bridge? When you go to Big1380 you get the entertaining guests and pointed comments of the only Daytona area broadcasts of Imus in the Morning; frequent short editorials on Evans Essays that provide food for thought and conversation, the opinions of program hosts who seldom agree with each other or their guests and callers are welcome to voice their opinions. Goliath is the flagship station of the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and Embry Riddle Eagles and overnight and weekend Yahoo Sports Radio keeps you current with highlights and discussion on all sports, everywhere.

Goliath cares, and wants you to care, and to make your caring count by getting involved on whatever side of whichever issue moves you. That’s how Goliath protects your right to know.
